There is a profound intersection between what Scripture teaches and what psychology attempts to uncover. We often hear the saying that there is nothing so hidden that it is out of God’s reach. And in the field of mental health, there is a similar concept: making the unconscious conscious — bringing into awareness the things that have remained hidden beneath the surface of the human mind and soul. Today, we will reflect on this concept in two lights.

The book of Job declares:

“He uncovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death.”
— Job 12:22

Very often, we encounter situations that are conflicting, confounding, confusing, and deeply complex because we do not yet understand the depth and intricacy of what lies beneath them. Sometimes it is a marriage crisis that seems impossible to resolve. Sometimes it is a parenting challenge, a financial struggle, a career dilemma, an emotional battle, or a crisis of faith. We struggle not merely because the issue exists, but because we cannot yet fully see what is hidden underneath it.

But as Christians, we serve a God who is able to search out hidden things. Scripture also says:

“The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever...”
— Deuteronomy 29:29

Serving a God who searches out hidden things means that nothing — except that which God, in His sovereignty, decides to conceal — is truly beyond awareness to a child of God. He is the God who searches the hearts and the intents of men. He is the God whose Word is able to divide between bone and marrow, soul and spirit. He is the God who sees beyond appearances into motives, wounds, patterns, fears, gifts, and possibilities that human eyes cannot naturally discern.

Yet many of us continue to move through life in confusion and ignorance because we have not attuned ourselves to the frequency of heaven. We have not plugged ourselves into the wavelength of God. Under God, the only limitations are the limitations He permits and the limitations of time as we grow spiritually, psychologically, intellectually, relationally, and biologically. Outside of that, all things remain possible under God.

And this becomes the first point of reflection: what is that issue in your life that is conflicting, confounding, confusing, and complex? Is it in your marriage? Parenting? Career? Finances? Ministry? Faith? Emotional life? The line between awareness and ignorance is often our willingness to remain at the foot of the cross until our inner man aligns with the frequency of God. For it is in that place of surrender, stillness, prayer, study, meditation, obedience, and intimacy with God that hidden things begin to come to light according to His will.

Psychologically, this principle mirrors the process of insight and self-awareness. Many emotional struggles persist because painful memories, fears, unconscious beliefs, traumas, or unhealthy relational patterns remain buried beneath conscious awareness. Healing often begins when hidden things are brought into light safely and truthfully. Awareness creates the possibility for transformation. Spiritually, God does not merely expose hidden things to shame us; He reveals them so that healing, wisdom, growth, and alignment can occur.

The second point of this reflection is this: if you remember the earlier ages of civilization, there was once a dispensation where hunting was merely a means of livelihood. Then came the agrarian age, when humanity discovered that the soil itself could grow crops. Yet even then, little did they know that there were still treasures buried beneath the earth, minerals, oil, precious stones, energy reserves, and countless untapped resources hidden in unseen depths.

Even in our generation, there are still resources lying latent beneath the earth’s surface waiting to be discovered.

And we ourselves are called earthen vessels.

No matter the quality, talent, gift, or capacity you presently manifest, or even the things you feel you currently lack,  there still remains a wealth of resources hidden within the depths of your human soul. There are possibilities in you that have not yet been awakened. There are dimensions of wisdom, creativity, resilience, insight, leadership, healing, innovation, compassion, and spiritual authority that still lie dormant beneath the surface of your life.

This is why Scripture says:

“Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”
— 1 Corinthians 2:9

There are depths, dimensions, realms, and possibilities hidden within you. But you will only access them to the extent that you become attuned to the frequency and wavelength of heaven. There is a generation waiting for what has been lying latent in the womb of your spirit to become potent in time. God desires that believers together reveal the multifaceted wisdom of God to their generation, their dispensation, and generations yet unborn.

So the question becomes this: will you position and align yourself for God to search out all that He has placed within you? Because ultimately, revelation is not in our hands. It is not merely in human intelligence, striving, or ability. It is God who reveals hidden things and searches out the depths of darkness.

Will you remain available long enough for Him to bring you into divine awakening and supernatural awareness of that which has been lying latent within you — so that what was hidden may become potent in this season according to His will?
